EHI is excited to be continuing the new series of experiential salons into the new year. The intention for these salons is to honor EHI’s commitment to experiential learning as well as the time honored group process of discussion and integration.

On January 30th, EHI is hosting a two-hour virtual community space for encountering The Therapeutic Relationship. Personal, relational, and cosmological aspects are considered in group discussion, practical demonstration, dyad engagement, and will be flexible to follow emergent wishes from the group.

General Outline (2 hours):
● Welcome Introduction and check-in (15 min)
● Conceptual frames for The Psychotherapeutic Relationship (20 min)
● Experiential exercise: Exploring The Psychotherapeutic Relationship (35 min)
● Dyad: Deepening the experience (30min)

● Final Large Group Process: (20 min)

As we acknowledge that the word “salon” implies a more free flowing structure this is a flexible outline that will be modified by Sonja and Josh to work with what is happening in the moment.

New Edition of Existential-Humanistic Therapy Textbook Arriving November 18th!

By Kirk Schneider and Orah Krug

“EH therapy blends the European heritage of self-inquiry, struggle, and responsibility with the American tradition of spontaneity, optimism, and practicality. This book helps therapists and trainees understand how to help people address critical life questions and attune to how clients relate to themselves and to others, appropriately reflecting back aspects of themselves that are evident but unnoticed.

New to this edition are significant updates to research and theory, including the work of Otto Rank, an often-overlooked pioneer in EH therapy, and new concepts like existential unconsciousness and life-enhancing anxiety. The cultivation of presence as a central component of the therapeutic relationship is also emphasized.”
