In first part of this workshop, the presenters provide an overview of the primary themes of CRT. Next, they consider criticism of CRT, both popular and academic, and provide some responses to these criticisms. In responding to the criticisms, the presenters consider which are based upon false assumptions about CRT and which reflect valid criticisms. After considering the foundations and critiques of CRT, the presenters address how CRT can be applied in clinical and training settings.

This workshop is designed to help clinicians working with LGBTQIA+ clients understand the current essential language and why it is important to use the appropriate language. According to the Centers for Disease Control, LGBTQIA+ people are members of every community, diverse, come from all walks of life, and include people of all races and ethnicities, all ages, all socioeconomic status, and come from all over the world.
