Join EHNW for a virtual fall reading salon on Friday, October 17th from 1 PM to 3 PM, Pacific Time.
EHNW Board Members Bob Edelstein, LMFT, and Lisa Sloan Strom, LPC will be facilitating a discussion of Kirk Schneider’s latest book, Life-Enhancing Anxiety: Key to a Sane World. Kirk is the leading spokesperson for Existential-Humanistic and Existential-Integrative psychotherapy in the United States. EHNW are honored that he will be the Fall 2025 workshop presenter. In this salon Bob and Lisa will discuss the value of life-enhancing anxiety and the price we pay if we deny or avoid our anxiety. Come join as participants explore ways to engage with anxiety for the benefit of ourselves and our clients.
Bios
Bob Edelstein, LMFT, MFT, is an Existential-Humanistic psychotherapist with over fifty years of experience. He provides individual and couples therapy, as well as consultation, supervision, workshops, and trainings for clinicians and students. He is a blogger for Psychology Today and has published articles on the existential-humanistic perspective, including a chapter entitled “Frames, Attitudes, and Skills of an Existential Humanistic Psychotherapist” in The Handbook of Humanistic Psychology, 2nd Edition. He has presented multiple workshops on Existential-Humanistic Psychotherapy, including presenting at both the 2nd and 3rd Existential Psychotherapy World Congresses. He was also a presenter at the Existential Global World Summit. Bob is the founder and past president of the Existential-Humanistic Northwest professional organization.
Lisa Sloan Strom, LPC, has an office in Portland near the zoo. In practice over a decade, her previous careers were in education and entertainment. As a member of the EHNW board, Lisa is passionate about serving humanity, and our search for meaning. She also serves as Advisor to the Council for Sati Sangha. Outside of office hours, Lisa might be found hiking, dancing and hanging out with friends, family, and her canine companion, Sadie Sage.
