Depolarizing Therapeutic Presence: Utilizing Concepts of the “Experiential Democracy Dialogue” to Help Therapists Reduce Polarization With Clients Developed and Facilitated by EHI Core Instructor: Kirk Schneider, PhD, Psychologist & EHI President Date: Saturday, January 22, 2021
This workshop will provide skills for therapists who are challenged by the cultural and political stances of their clients and want to more effectively work through their own charged internal reactions that could adversely affect the therapeutic relationship. Attendees will utilize phases of Kirk’s Experiential Democracy Dialogue from his book, The Depolarizing of America: A Guidebook to Social Healing
For the first time, the four contemporary leaders of the four major existential psychotherapy schools of thought will come together and present their specific theories and approaches, followed by a live demonstration of how they work with a volunteer. The conference will conclude with a panel of all four presenters.
