Daniel B. Pitchford

Daniel B. Pitchford, Ph.D., is a clinician, writer, and researcher who has been working in the field of psychology for over 15 years. He currently serves as the editor for the San Francisco Psychological Association, adjunct faculty for Northcentral University and the University of the Rockies. He is also the recipient of the 2008 Rollo May Scholarship Award (from Saybrook University) for his research on applying May's theoretical concepts toward the resolution of traumatic stress with combat veterans.

In his clinical endeavors, Dr. Pitchford has worked closely with survivors and their families of combat and war trauma, abuse, loss, severe and persistent psychological distress, and displacement. He has written on themes surrounding existential thought, practice, culture, trauma, and neuropsychology, and is currently co-authoring a book on posttraumatic stress disorder for ABC-Clio/Greenwood Publishing. Dr. Pitchford's research interests are in the areas of in the areas of existential psychology, personal transformation, trauma, stress, and anxiety. He has and continues to provide premier academic editing services to students and professionals while publishing his own work in academic journals and textbooks. He is a member of the American Psychological Association, the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies, Division 56 (Trauma Psychology) of the American Psychological Association, the Bay Area Editor's Forum, and is a consultant for the Existential Humanistic Institute based in San Francisco, California.
